Ben and Sheena met at Cabo Cantina on Wilshire in Los Angeles. She spotted him first and then sent a friend over to feel him out. Way to go back to basics Sheena! Keepin' it old school. I love it. The friend obviously came back bearing good news because 5 years later on February 20, 2010 in a small ceremony in Isla Mujeres, Mexico, they vowed to love, honor and cherish each other always.

I have known Sheena for awhile now and was so excited to do this couples session for her and Ben. We trekked around Downtown Los Angeles which was awesome. The architecture downtown is incredible and there are all of these cool little areas that provide the perfect backdrop for photos.

Sheena and I decided that it would be really cool to take photos on the bench from 500 Days of Summer. Beautiful park in the movie right? Very romantic? What you DON'T see however is the park's many "inhabitants" sleeping and hanging out around said bench. Needless to say, not as romantic as we were hoping it would be. We did manage however to get some nice photos on the path leading through the park. Those are the final shots of the day.

I remember talking to my aunt awhile back about relationships. She was saying how young people today don't grow together. They wait until they have everything lined up in their own lives and then find someone who fits. She was saying that when she was young, you met poor and uneducated and then in time you built lives together, learned together, and grew together. She said that it was all about the journey. That was what made it wonderful to know that you'd had so many share experiences together.

Leslie and Chris met at Patrick Malloy's a place I know quite well as I'd spent the better part of my early 20's on their dance floor. Leslie spotted Chris through the crowd and said "He is cute" to her friend, while pointing... Of course because the universe has a sense of humor, he looked up at that exact moment. She said she froze and so did her hand. Obvious much? But it caught his attention.

They will both tell you that in the beginning they had their ups and downs, as with any relationship. But in time, their love for each other matured and so did they. On January 27, 2011 they welcomed their beautiful daughter Ariana Cecilia into the world and I can think of no two more loving parents for such a special little girl. I look forward to seeing them build a life together, learn together, and grow together. Enjoy the journey.

This was not staged. Chris was actually on a work call. Les turned to me and gave me a big smile, so I snapped this cute pic.

My mom has been going to Elite Fitness in Torrance, CA for two years and it has done wonders for her health, so when she asked me if I'd shoot her trainer's daughter Aryanna I said absolutely!

I'm used to photographing couples so I always get a little nervous before a baby shoot, but as luck would have it, I had nothing to be nervous about. Aryanna was such an easy baby to shoot. Any time we needed a smile, mom was ready with her favorite song that was sure to give us a big beaming grin!

"Tick tock, tick tock, I'm a little cuckoo clock.
Tick tock, tick tock, now it's one o'clock.
Cuckoo!"
